Recent trends in new client calls show many employees are seeking out an attorney to talk to **while they are still employed**. This demonstrates widespread **dissatisfaction** with the job market. It also demonstrates knowledge employment lawyers exist. Many of the issues phoned in by the callers should be answered by internal human resources. I get the feeling human resources are not there to help. Oxnard Office Remodel Update
The long awaited remodel of the **Oxnard office** has finally started. No more dated 70s interior, adobe roof, or swirly stucco exterior. For the next few months you might not see me posting beautiful pictures of the ocean in Oxnard. Instead, I work the project on the weekends. My son and I stripped the floor down to the slab. Tomorrow the **asbestos remediators** come to remove all of the drywall in the place. Appointments will take place on the deck, or on a boat the next week. #MandalayBay #EmploymentLawyers
A Look at the Future Workforce
This picture has absolutely nothing to do with employment law other than many of these youngsters are future employees, and in some respects hopefully not clients. Notwithstanding labor law, this was the best kid's ride as well as the longest ride line at the **31st Annual Strawberry Festival** in Oxnard today. The festival was held at Oxnard Community College and adjacent municipal properties. Not far away at the old Camarillo Mental Institution, California State University Channel Islands was putting on a graduation ceremony. That event has more application to labor: Nationwide only **17% of the 2014 bachelors graduates** have a job lined up. Few will earn more than **$25,000 per year** in their first post-college job.
